SCRG’s Response to School District’s OEC Complaints

In July of 2009, Dr. Russell Jones, Superintendent of Stow-Monroe Falls City School District filed an affidavit of complaint with the Ohio Elections Commission (OEC). City Charter Meetings Need You

Resident presence is sorely needed to help with their ideas and information to adequately review the charter and suggest changes where necessary. An agreement was made with the Stow-Munroe Falls School District. Although the violations, as depicted in the school board's most eloquent press release to the Stow Sentry, would like to make it sound as if we were tarred and feathered, that is far from the truth. We thank the board members for once again reducing this whole affair to a name-calling contest. But such is politics. A Taxing Message For Citizens Of Stow…

Your City Council is considering the operating budget for 2010. The final budget must be passed by March 31. There are two budget meetings scheduled as of this date: March 8, at 5:30 p.m. and March 11 at 5:30 p.m. Both of these meetings will be held in the Council chambers at City Hall. Continue reading

The Superintendent is once again blowing the school districts money by forming a “non-profit” foundation to be called Stow Excellence in Education Foundation. The purpose of the foundation seems, possibly, to be a way to collect money for future levy committees. Continue reading

Around the first of the year, 2009, the Superintendent approached the president of the Stow-Munroe Falls School’s Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) Council. He suggested that the PTA sponsor a fund raiser for the schools. No indication was given at that time what the funds raised would be used for.
